Six SAA members; Nick Kunin, Ryan MacInnis, Ran Norman, Trey Dodd, Trevor Stone, and Will Scherer; along with their teammates on the St. Louis 96 AAA Blues, played the Russian Central Red Army in Chicago to kick-off the 2009 Bauer International Invite (formerly Nike/Bauer). The exhibition game was played at 5:10pm Thursday, November 5th at Seven Bridges Ice Arena in Chicago as part of the 'Opening Night Gala'. The Blues won a hard fought battle, 3-2. In addition to this 96 level game, the 'Opening Night Gala' also included the LA Selects vs. Welland Tigers at the 95 level and the Chicago Mission vs. Winnipeg at the U16 level. |

Ethan Scherer, a '91 Senior, 6'0" 190lb., defenseman with the Springfield Jr. Blues (NAHL), and Will Scherer, a '96 Eight grade, defenseman with the St. Louis 96 AAA Blues, have joined Student-Athlete Advantage as our newest members. Ethan, who formerly played for the St. Louis Selects as well as the St. Louis AAA Blues and attended Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, now billets in Springfield, IL and attends Glenwood High School in Chatham, IL. Will is a straight A student currently home schooled in St. Charles, MO. |

Trevor Stone, an 8th grader at Pleasant Plains Middle School in Springfield, IL, was recently recognized as the top student in the entire school by being awarded the 'Student of the Month' for the month of August, 2009. The award recognizes the student in the school who most exemplifies academic responsibility, good citizenship, good manners, and a pleasant and friendly personality. In addition, Trevor was one of only a few students to be selected to attend a 'Leadership Conference' in Sangamon County. The Conference will include important topics such as 'Leadership Styles', 'Bullying/Harrassment', 'The Secrets of Unlimited Energy', 'Team Building', 'Crisis and Suicide Prevention', and 'Spotsmanship'. Congratulations Trevor!! |

 Shattuck-St. Mary's Bantam Tier I '95 Defensman Ian McCoshen has joined Student-Athlete Advantage as our newest member. The 5'10", honor roll student, 9th grader should be among the most sought-after '95 players in North America for Juniors and Colleges . Ian returns and looks to lead theSSM Bantam Tier I team to another successful season, having been the only '95 on the team last year. |
